Ryan Jeyoon, EFA VA

University of Notre Dame, Class of 2029

My time at Elite Fencing Academy was about so much more than just learning how to fence. It taught me how to stay calm under pressure, adapt when things didn’t go as planned, and push myself to improve, even on the hardest days. Beyond the technical skills, I learned the value of showing up, putting in the work, and being part of a supportive team. The lessons I gained helped me grow not just as an athlete, but as a person.

The coaches at Elite Fencing Academy were truly amazing. They focused not only on improving my fencing skills, but also on helping me develop mental strength and confidence. Their advice always came at the perfect moment, whether it was correcting a technique or offering encouragement when I needed it most. What set them apart was how much they genuinely cared about me, both on and off the strip. That support made all the difference in my journey.

I am incredibly fortunate to have been recruited to the University of Notre Dame and I owe so much of this achievement to Elite Fencing Academy. The rigorous training, opportunities to compete, and the support from everyone at the academy prepared me to face every challenge. They gave me the confidence to showcase my abilities and take this next big step.

I feel so grateful for the amazing support system I’ve had along the way. To my coaches for believing in me, my teammates for pushing me and making practice enjoyable, and my family for standing by me through every step of the way—thank you for being an essential part of my journey.
